Velvet is a dwarf Alocasia and has dark, almost black leaves, adorned with brilliant silvery-white veins and velvety look makes for a strikingly beautiful plant. The underneath colour throws off a purple tone. Anthurium-like flowers are produced throughout the year when growing conditions are favourable.

  • They grows best in bright, indirect light. Care also requires that the soil be free draining but hold some water. If you are growing this plant as a houseplant, half and half mix of potting soil and orchid soil or perlite will provide the kind of soil anthuriums prefer.
